Asya Savicheva, Cover Try for L’Officiel. 20.04.2006 This scene was shot in only 20 days after we all realised that our sweet, as little as only 14 years old princess Asya Savicheva, which by that time has already signed a contract with IMG NY, should have postponed all plans to conquer the world, because of the terrible preliminary diagnosis – cancer of the lymph nodes… Only 20 days… First 2 weeks after the diagnosis were the most terrible ones. Asya, which wasn’t told by us what was happening to her, nevertheless was fading like a flower right before our very eyes. And her cancerous growth was expanding so rapidly that doctors started chemotherapeutic actions through intubated directly into Asya’s vein catheter next day after she went to hospital, not waiting up for the final confirmation of the diagnosis. And only next few days after the chemotherapy has started made it clear: this was the case, what our dear beloved Asya has gotten undoubtedly was lymph nodes cancer – lymphogranulomatosis… It’s hard to explain what we all felt at that time. And it’s even harder to explain how come we, Asya’s career managers, as well as her own parents, driven by Asya’s attitude, decided to keep Asya working untill things get really, really bad to her. There were only 10 days left before Asya, over the chemotherapeutic actions, gets hair fallen out, immune system exhausted, stops almost all spontaneous contacts with other people, because such contacts should pose a hazard to her life. However in the course of that 10 days Asya, notwithstanding terrible tortures caused by cancer growth, intubated catheter and other serious difficulties, was managing to escape from her hospital bed every time we were managing to settle a job for her!
